User Generated Content (UGC) Disclaimer

Fossy (accessible at fossy.dev) allows registered users and contributors to submit, post, suggest, or display content, including but not limited to project repository listings, suggestions for categorization, review comments, feedback, and contributor profile claims (collectively, "User Generated Content" or "UGC").

Fossy is operated as part of the GreenRocket family of websites. This UGC Disclaimer outlines our policies, disclaimers, and user responsibilities regarding content generated by our community.

1. User Responsibility for Submissions

You are solely responsible for the content you submit or suggest to Fossy. By posting or submitting UGC, you represent and warrant that:

• You own or have the necessary licenses, rights, consents, and permissions to use and authorize us to display the content.
• The content is accurate, truthful, and not misleading.
• The content does not violate any local, national, or international laws, including intellectual property laws, privacy rights, or contractual obligations.
• The content is free from malicious code, viruses, spyware, tracking scripts, or phishing links.

2. No Endorsement or Pre-Screening

Fossy does not endorse, support, represent, or guarantee the truthfulness, accuracy, completeness, safety, or reliability of any UGC posted on our directory, nor do we endorse any opinions expressed in reviews, comments, or project tags.

While we perform periodic curation and moderation check-ups, user submissions are not pre-screened. Any reliance you place on user-generated project suggestions or reviews is entirely at your own risk.

3. Moderation and Removal Rights

We reserve the right (but assume no obligation) to monitor, review, edit, or remove any User Generated Content at our sole discretion, without notice and for any reason, including if we believe that the content:

• Violates our Terms of Service or Privacy Policy.
• Contains spam, advertising, affiliate links, or commercial solicitation not approved by us.
• Is offensive, defamatory, abusive, harassing, threatening, or violates community standards.
• Is copyright-infringing or violates the rights of third parties (refer to our DMCA Policy).

4. Claimed Contributor Profiles

Fossy aggregates public contributor lists from GitHub. We allow developers to sign in using their GitHub-linked accounts to claim their contributor page and display a verified badge.

While we verify ownership of the linked GitHub account using Clerk's standard secure auth flows, we are not responsible for any user descriptions, biographical edits, website links, or external content added by users to their claimed contributor profiles. Views expressed on claimed profiles belong solely to that user.

5. License Grant

When you post or submit UGC to Fossy, you grant Fossy and GreenRocket a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable license to host, display, run, adapt, modify, publish, distribute, and translate your content on our Service in connection with operating and promoting the directory.

6. How to Report Inappropriate Content

If you find any content, project submission, review, or claimed profile on Fossy that you believe is misleading, copyright-infringing, abusive, or otherwise violates our standards, please report it to us at:
